xLAB Program

Faculty Lecture Greg Lynn + Andrew Witt + Hitoshi Abe 2018.08.04 (SAT) 15:00 @Tokyo Midtown Hibiya

Throughout the 2 weeks, students who receives advanced architectural education will conduct their works at the Studio. In the xLAB Summer Program, with the start of the studio, a lecture will be held as a public program as well.



As studio instructors, we have Greg Lynn who is a studio professor at UCLA, a chief creative officer at Piaggio Fast Forward and developer for a wheeled robot “Gita” and Andrew Witt who is an Assistant Professor in Practice in Architecture at the GSD and co-founder of Certain Measures, a Boston/Berlin-based design and technology incubator. At the lecture, they will be giving lectures talking about their projects. After the lectures, Hitoshi Abe who is a director of xLAB Summer Program will join them to exchange their opinions on impacts which technology will have on architecture and urban strategy such as building design utilizing digital technology and necessity of collaboration across fields.
