Studio Instructor Eric Baczuk Design Researcher

Eric Baczuk is a multi-disciplinary design researcher at Google. His work seeks to humanize the experience of immersive computation by fusing industrial design, human-computer interaction, product design, and architecture.

Recently, he was the Designer-in-Residence at Sidewalk Labs, where his research in urban mobility, and construction aimed to evoke new perspectives on social and environmental equity in cities.

Outside of Alphabet, he has done interaction design and thought leadership for frog, and has collaborated on installations at the Venice Biennale with Carlo Ratti, Tetsuo Kondo and Transsolar Energietechnik.

He completed his MDes at Harvard GSD, and was a GE Fellow for 6 terms at MIT’s Senseable City Lab. Major projects include the Copenhagen Wheel e-bike retrofit, HubCab ride-share (a precursor to Lyft line and Uber pool), and Health Infoscapes, an award-winning health data visualization tool.
